LAS VEGAS, Nov. 3, 2014—Spectra Precision announced today that its ProMark™ 700 GNSS receiver now supports Trimble® RTX™ (Real-Time eXtended) correction technology. Combining real-time data with innovative positioning and compression algorithms to deliver repeatable centimeter level positions worldwide, Trimble RTX utilizes an established global reference station network along with satellite orbit and clock information to compute high accuracy positions.
The announcement was made at Trimble Dimensions.
Using the CenterPoint® RTX correction service, ProMark 700 users can typically obtain real-time 4 centimeter positioning accuracy with less than 30 minutes initialization without the use of a local base station or virtual reference station network. By using QuickStart option, this convergence time can be reduced and full accuracy can be achieved within few minutes only.
Available worldwide as an IP-delivered subscription service where a cellular connection is available, CenterPoint RTX offers a flexible and easy to deploy option for applications such as pre-bid reconnaissance and initial site measurements. Surveyors can use CenterPoint RTX to perform topographic surveys, estimate quantities and conduct site planning quickly and easily. When surveying over a great distance in a remote area, CenterPoint RTX can eliminate the need to continuously move a base station.
“The addition of CenterPoint RTX correction service to the Spectra Precision ProMark 700 GNSS receiver gives customers another option to obtain high-accuracy positioning that can fit their specific needs and applications, » said Olivier Casabianca, Spectra Precision business area director. « Its extensive coverage and deployment flexibility provide opportunities in environments where corrections have not been available before or where additional hardware was required. »
“We continue to expand the reach of Trimble RTX technology with support for the Spectra Precision ProMark 700,” said Patricia Boothe, general manager of Trimble’s Positioning Services Division. “We are very excited to offer RTX-enabled benefits to enable reduced downtime and increased productivity for a new group of users.”
