Winner of the SP20 GNSS Receiver Intergeo 2018 Contest Annouced
SPECTRA GEOSPATIAL

Nantes, December 2018 – Congratulations to Nandor M., the winner of our Intergeo 2018 contest! Nandor, one of the founding members of Atlas Mapping S.R.L-D, received a SP20 handheld GNSS receiver as his prize. The contest was held at this October’s Intergeo 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Many participants answered all the questions correctly, but it was Nandor’s name that was selected in the draw.

Atlas Mapping S.R.L-D was founded in 2014, in Carei, Romania. The winner is the Director of Operations and ensures day-to-day operations for the company’s successful development. His methods seem to be working well: not only does the four years old company aims to double the number of employees in the next three years, it already has international experience in various European countries as well as in Africa.

Atlas Mapping S.R.L-D mainly works on engineering surveying related to new build infrastructure projects – such as construction of new airports, roads, buildings, large metal structures, photogrammetry and LiDAR projects using UAV mounted remote sensing equipment. In this context, Nandor designs and implements highly accurate geodetic networks, GNSS and Total Stations surveys such as stake out, cadastral, volumetric calculation surveys.  He is excited to get his new SP20 handheld GNSS receiver which he says, will be a great asset for their usual cadastral and GIS jobs. It is indeed the optimal tool for this kind of work – not only it is rugged, easy-to-use and highly accurate, it also combines innovative, camera-enabled data collection workflow with a high level of performance in an ergonomic, scalable solution (from meter to cm accuracy).

Last summer, his team had a chance to test Spectra Geospatial’s products, for instance, the SP80 combined with Survey Pro and SPSO. “We used them to establish a control point network for a road project in NV Romania. We were impressed by the number of tracked and used satellites which really made a difference in time spent in the field and data quality. Back in the office, post-processing was an easy job with SPSO. You have everything you need to process the data, integrate it with other types of data (aerial photogrammetry and total station in our case) and get all the deliverables the client needs. This really made us consider going with Spectra Geospatial next time we invest in equipment”.

About the SP20 handheld GNSS Receiver
The SP20 handheld GNSS receiver combines innovative, camera- enabled data collection workflow with a high level of performance in an ergonomic, scalable solution (from meter to cm accuracy). Rugged and lightweight, the SP20 is easy-to-use and highly accurate. It is the optimal tool not only for cadastral, construction, or topo surveys but also for a range of GIS projects, including data collection, inspection, and maintenance. The 5.3-inch screen delivers vivid visuals of the workflow, which enables precise 2D handheld logging. And the system’s high degree of accuracy can be enhanced with a monopole accessory to deliver solid, survey-grade 3D measurements. More information
